Museum Support Resources

Museums play a special role in inspiring creativity, curiosity and connection. We’ve had the pleasure of collaborating a number of museums for Dot Day events, from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC, to the Museum of Fine Arts and the Instititute of Contemporary Arts in Boston. And on Saturday, October 4th, Peter H. Reynolds will be at MoMA NYC for a special Dot Day celebration!

To help you celebrate Dot Day at YOUR museum, we’ve prepared resources to plan activities, and spark meaningful connections to your collections.

It’s very likely that schools in your area are already celebrating Dot Day. We encourage you to reach out and connect with them to build activities around The Dot. It’s a wonderful way for schools to “connect the dots” with — and show their support for — their local museum!

Museum Scavenger Hunt Activity Guide

The Museum Scavenger Hunt Activity Guide is an educational resource designed to inspire students to explore and investigate art in a more mindful way. And then be inspired to use their creativity to make their own mark!

Families, teachers, and caregivers are encouraged to visit their local art museums to look for dot details in the exhibits. This can be a painting, photograph, sculpture, artifact, or an architectural piece of the museum itself. In the process, students will learn more about the artists, curation, history, techniques, etc.
